Gamma Resources Ltd. — Mesa Arc Exploration Project
At Gamma Resources, we recognize that our proposed Mesa Arc exploration project has raised questions and concerns among residents, Tribal Nations, acequia communities, agricultural producers, local leaders, conservation organizations, and elected officials throughout Northern New Mexico.
We want to begin by saying clearly: we hear those concerns, and we respect them.
We understand that discussions involving uranium in New Mexico are shaped by a long and complex history. We recognize that many families and communities continue to carry the legacy of past uranium development, in their health, their land, and their memory. We understand why people want clear answers before any company begins work in this region. That demand is not opposition. It is wisdom born from experience.
We also recognize the importance of the Chama watershed and the deep connection that Northern New Mexico communities have to the land, water, culture, traditions, and natural resources that define this region.
We recognize that water is among the most valuable resources in Northern New Mexico. Protecting water resources is a concern we have heard repeatedly from community members, and we understand why. Any exploration activities proposed by Gamma Resources would be subject to regulatory review, environmental requirements, and permit conditions designed to protect groundwater, surface water, and surrounding natural resources.
What Gamma Resources Is Currently Doing
The activity currently proposed by Gamma Resources is an exploration drilling program intended to collect geological information and verify historical data regarding the Mesa Arc Project.
Exploration is an early-stage scientific process. It is distinct from mining in every meaningful way, legally, operationally, and in its physical impact on land and water.
No mining operation has been proposed, planned, or approved. We are at the earliest possible stage of geological study.
A Note on Forward Looking Statements
Gamma Resources often expresses forward-looking statements within our corporate materials and presentations. These statements are accompanied by disclosures recognizing the speculative nature of mineral exploration and development and the many factors outside a company’s control that may influence project planning, timelines, and outcomes.
We understand that these statements can create concern when viewed without the context of the qualifying language and disclosures that accompany them. We are committed to providing clear information about what is proposed today and what remains uncertain in the future.
What We Should Have Done Differently
We should have introduced ourselves to your communities before our permits became public knowledge.
We did not, and we take full responsibility for that mistake.
Our focus on the regulatory process caused us to overlook the more important step: introducing ourselves, listening to concerns, and beginning a dialogue with the people most directly affected by this project.
That created a vacuum, and that vacuum understandably filled with concern.
It will not happen that way again.
Our Commitments to You
- We will answer questions from community members, Tribal Nations, elected officials, organizations, and stakeholders with accurate and complete information.
- We will strive to make project information and permit documentation publicly available and understandable in plain language.
- We will remain accessible and engaged through public meetings, community conversations, and ongoing project updates.
- We will listen before we speak.
- We will seek opportunities to meet directly with Tribal leadership, community representatives, acequia associations, agricultural stakeholders, and local organizations that wish to engage with us. We will approach those conversations with respect, transparency, and a willingness to listen.
- We will continue expanding the information available to the public so that community members can better understand the project, the regulatory review process, and the safeguards that govern exploration activities.
Next Steps
Within the next 30 days, Gamma Resources intends to publish additional information regarding the Mesa Arc Project, including project background materials, frequently asked questions, permitting information, regulatory processes, and opportunities for public engagement.
We also intend to establish dedicated channels for community questions and feedback so that residents can communicate directly with our team.
Moving Forward
We recognize that trust cannot be requested. It must be earned.
We also recognize that not everyone will agree with our project, and we respect that. Our commitment is that every conversation will be approached honestly, respectfully, and transparently, regardless of differing viewpoints.
We know that trust is earned through actions, not words. We are committed to engaging respectfully, providing accurate information, listening carefully, and participating transparently throughout every phase of this process.
